Expobar Brewtus IV-P (Reservoir and Plumbable)
Product Description
The newest generation of the vibration-pump operated, plumbable Expobar Brewtus light duty commercial and prosumer espresso machines will let you brew and steam in perfect autonomy. The Brewtus IV-P is equipped with two independently operated boilers—one dedicated to brewing and the other to steaming operations. A very unique feature on this machine is that it is set up to use either a water line or work with included reservoir. Expobar has upgraded the Brewtus IV-P to include a control switch that will let you deactivate the steam boiler. If you will only be brewing espresso and do not need to steam, froth or dispense water, turning the steam boiler off and just running the brew boiler will allow the Expobar IV-P to heat up faster and reduce operating costs. This model can warm up to brew temp in less than 15 minutes. Once you activate the steam boiler, it will be ready to go in under 10 minutes.
Along with independent boilers, the Brewtus IV-P is also outfitted with a Gicar PID (Proportional-Integral-Differential) controller to monitor and maintain brew boiler temperature. Like all Expobar prosumer espresso machines, this unit comes with a chrome-plated brass E-61 brew group to maintain optimal temperature stability and deliver professional-quality espresso. The Expobar Brewtus IV-P is a high-end semi-automatic machine recommended for discerning espresso connoisseurs.
Please Note: Regulations for commercial use vary between states. Be aware of your local requirements. Machines carrying an NSF approval are labeled as such.
Dual Boilers
The Expobar Brewtus IV-P has twin copper boilers, each furnished with its own 1250-watt heating unit. Instead of one shared boiler, which must alternate between brewing and steaming temperatures, these two boilers operate independently of one another. Unlike heat-exchange machines, each of the Expobar’s boilers has been set to the ideal temperature for its unique function. Boiler environment will not fluctuate, when users switch from extracting espresso to steaming or frothing; this precision, in turn, delivers more reliable results, comparable or better than those achieved with commercial machines.
Steam Boiler Switch
There is an additional control switch, located on the front panel of the machine; it operates the steam boiler. The Expobar Brewtus IV-P lets you run the brew boiler while keeping the steam boiler off. This results in faster warm up time and lower operating costs. But, should you decide to activate the steam boiler, within 10 minutes, this Expobar model can deliver powerful and consistent steam for lattes and cappuccinos.
Gicar PID Control
The PID controller is specifically designed for the Brewtus IV-P by Gicar, a renowned manufacturer of espresso machine controls. This control system utilizes pulses of electricity to ensure that the brew boiler is evenly heated and guard against temperature variances. The PID control can be used to adjust and regulate boiler temps to allow you to achieve optimal results for a variety of espresso roasts.
Three-Way Valve
The three-way valve will relieve the brew group of pressure post extraction. This will help to dry out the puck and allow you to clean the brewing components by backflushing the machine. The three-way valve empties directly and neatly into the drip tray. The Expobar Brewtus IV-P should be backflushed every 7-9 days to maximize performance and durability.
Electronic Boiler Refill Control
The Electronic Boiler Refill Control monitors water levels within your steam and brew boilers to prevent a dry boil. It will activate and refill the boilers with water from the reservoir or plumbed line if levels are low. It can also deactivate the boilers, if they are dry to guard against damage to the machine.
Water Connections
This Expobar model can operate using the removable, 90oz reservoir or be connected directly into a water line. It comes with the plumb line that you can attach to the bottom of the machine and with it we include a 3/8" flare adapter that is ready to be attached to your water line. A lever under the machine lets you easily alternate between using water from the reservoir and plumbed line. To prevent against possible leaks, a solenoid valve is installed inside the machine that is in line with the plumbed water line.
Progressive Pre-Infusion
Lift the brew lever up half way and you’ll activate the Expobar’s progressive pre-infusion feature. The machine will gently and methodically moisten the coffee grounds prior to extraction to ensure the most flavor and aroma out of your shot.
No-Burn Steam Wand and Hot Water Dispenser
The steam wand has been carefully insulated to remain cool to the touch, even while it’s in use. It features a single-hole commercial steam tip that can deliver non-stop steaming and as well as create micro froth when necessary. The Expobar Brewtus IV-P is also outfitted with a separate hot water dispenser that lets you make tea and Americano on demand. Both the steam wand and hot water dispenser are mounted on ball joints and can be rotated in any direction to accommodate different sized cups and pitchers.
Slip-Resistant Feet
This Brewtus comes with a set of four slip-resistant feet. They are made of heavy-duty plastic and rubber to prevent the machine from coming into contact with your kitchen counter. Since the Expobar Brewtus IV-P is elevated, under-machine cleaning and maintenance is easy to accomplish.
Housing and Construction
The body of the machine, including the cup warmer, drip tray and drip tray cover, is made of heavy-gauge stainless steel for increased durability. The Expobar Brewtus IV-P has a shiny mirror finish with traditional styling that gives it an understated elegance sure to be appreciated by espresso lovers.

Brew Boiler Shut Off
If you only want to use the steaming and hot water dispensing functions of the machine, you can turn off the brew boiler. To turn it off, just push and hold the "up" arrow on the digital display for 2 seconds, the display will then say "off." To turn it back on, push and hold the "up" arrow for two seconds.
Improved E61 Brew Group
The Expobar Brewtus IV-P is equipped with the iconic chrome-plated brass E61 Brew Group. An intricate thermal siphon system circulates from the boiler through the group head to maintain temperature stability and create the ideal condition for espresso extraction. This model has been upgraded to feature Expobar’s new brew group, which has a hollow pre-infusion chamber for better espresso extraction. Hot water is directed through the brew group and once it makes contact with the shower screen, it floods back up into the pre-infusion chamber before being evenly dispersed through coffee grounds. The Brewtus IV-P also comes with a chrome-plated brass 58mm portafilter as well as a single and a double-shot filter basket.
