The sister grinder to Baratza's Forté-BG, the Forté-AP is an all purpose grinder capable of producing coarse and fine grinds to accommodate all styles of brewing. Like Baratza's Vario-W, the Forté-AP is a weight based grinder that can be programmed for one-touch grinding and dosing based on either weight or time. With an intuitive touch screen interface and 230 unique grind settings, dialing in your exact preferences has never been easier. Sporting numerous upgrades, such as a new, more powerful, high-torque DC motor, 54mm flat ceramic burrs, an improved belt drive transmission, and more, the Forté-AP runs longer and is quieter than its counterparts and delivers consistent results.

Hopper

With a capacity of 300g, the Forté-AP's hopper holds more beans than any other Baratza grinder. Dubbed the "Stopper Hopper" by Baratza, the Forté-AP's hopper is designed to reduce bean waste.

Calibration and Cleaning

Although the Forté-AP comes pre-calibrated for accurate grinding, the burrs are easily removable. This grinder comes with special tools for both calibrating and cleaning, should you feel the need to.

Digital Touchscreen Interface

With a digital touch screen control panel, operating the Forté-AP is a snap. The grinder can either be programmed for one-touch grinding, using preset specifications, based on either grind duration or weight. Alternatively, the grinder can be operated manually, so that you can start or stop as you please.

Grounds Bin and Portaholder

The Forté-AP's removable, clear plastic grounds bin holds up to 8oz of ground coffee. Also included is an adjustable portaholder attachment allowing you to grind directly into your portafilter.

Burrs

Accurate grinding and proportionally high throughput are achieved with the Forté-AP's 54mm flat ceramic burrs. The grind range is between 230 to 1150 microns and the Forté-AP grinds at a rate of approximately 2.0g a second when grinding for espresso and 3.5 to 3.7g a second for press pots. The burrs help to produce an even grind with narrow particle distribution, resulting in superior coffee.

Grind Adjustment

The Forté-AP offers 230 unique settings suitable for coffee brewed with medium-to-coarse grounds. There are 10 macro, and 26 micro-adjustment settings, enabling you to dial in the exact grind to suit your preference. The adjustment dials are stepped, allowing you to easily achieve the same grind over and over again.

Motor

Designed with commercial application in mind, the Forté-AP features a new, high torque, DC motor, which is 70% more powerful that of the Baratza Vario and that can run twice as long. This powerful motor turns slowly, generating less heat and less noise as a result and is equipped with a thermal cut-off switch that automatically resets itself in the case of overheating. To handle the increased power, the Forté-AP has been outfitted with a new drive ratio, pulley, and belt-drive system to help it keep up in a commercial environment.
